Gili leads personally his own productive structure , his
family has been historically tied to vineyards and wine
for generations.This young and dynamic wine reality was
born in 1998 with the building of the new cellar ,just
entering the Castellinaldo small town.The first experiences
of wine making have rapidly oriented the Gili family to
a deep and meticulous respect of the vineyards and to
a rigorous technics of vinification. Raffaele Gili belongs
to the new wave of Castellinaldo winemaking . There is
an impressing new performance from this winery,which produce
about 40,000 bottles a year.
The small starting nucleus of vineyards has grown potentially
, selecting the highest vocated soil for each of the grapes
cultivated. Traditionally ,Arneis, Favorita, Nebbiolo,
Barbera, Bonarda, and recently Cabernet,entering into
production soon.
There are two well made Nebbiolo’s the Alba more
traditonal,the Roero is a velvety softer toned interpretations,giving
sweet spices fragrant palate ,leading to a long harmonious
finish..The Barbera Alba Pautasso plays on fresh fruit,while
the Castellinaldo ,aged in barrique for 15 months is more
mouthfilling and austere.
The withes are elegant ,well typed , fragrant drinking.
By
now many prestigious wine guide wrote about Raffaele Gili
and his wife Laura , who takes care of the bottling and
administration ; they are one of the most highly rated
wine producers of the Castellinaldo and Roero area.
